Topshop's Winter Tease

So Topshop have decided to tease us with a glimpse of their Autumn Winter 2010 collection. Everything about it is delicious from the colours, to the fabrics. Leather shorts have moved seamlessly through from summer into the next season by darkening their subtle beige into chocolate brown. Fur has made it from the catwalks onto the high street in the form of Topshop's fluffy gilets and collared cardigans. The sheepskin look has also filtered through into a variety of winter hats and ear muffs.

Winter can sometimes have a drab and 'same old' feeling about it's jumpers, chunky boots and other hefty attire but this year Topshop has shown it is possible to stand out in a winter crowd.

H&M to Launch Online Shop!!

After many years of rumours and much anticipation, H&M have finally announced they will be launching their very own online store.

From 9th September you will be able to shop online for a wide range of H&M's products including many of their clothing lines, accessories, beauty products and even homeware.

With such a huge choice of shops now available online I wonder what H&M can bring to the table that will attract the online shoppers and keep them coming back for more? Or maybe their on trend styles and value for money will be enough.

Maybe Zara and Gap will now follow suit??

If cant wait to till September to browse H&M goodies online then check out their impressive pre-fall collection in the Style Guide by clicking the image above. You can even create your own style by dragging and dropping H&M items off the page. Enjoy!!

Spring's Statement Wedges

The wedge is back this spring with a mighty bang! Wedges have become bolder and chunkier, making them this season’s statement shoe. We’re spoilt for choice with styles ranging from sexy peep-toe to buckles wrapped and strapped across the foot inspired by Chloe Sevigny’s shoe for Opening Ceremony. You may have noticed these features have also transformed last season’s gladiators.
Forget thatched soles, this season’s wedges are formed in finely polished wood, leather, and even rubber. Wooden wedges have been carefully crafted into sharp graphic shapes, which are surprisingly easy to walk in, making them more wearable than in previous seasons. Check out Topshop’s options, where a pastel coloured high heel in engulfed in a wedge, creating the illusion of wearing high heels.

Rubber soles appear in the form of trainer-wedges which fall into this season’s sports luxe trend. They are probably the only shoes which make you a couple of inches taller but are also incredibly comfortable. Puma collaborated with fashion designer Hussein Chalayan earlier this year and created a trainer-wedge for the store’s ‘Urban Mobility’ range. The high-street has taken on this athletic alternative with vigour. Various versions can be found at Office, Topshop and ASOS in a multitude of colours from black to gold. Wear a pair with with grey marl cuffed harems, creating a relaxed but stylish sporty look.
Pair your wedges this summer with maxi dresses, harems, rolled-up chinos or even some sexy shorts when the weather adheres to show off those legs.

A truly un-missable fashion exhibition launches today celebrating 40 years of the iconic fashion boutique Browns. Clomping Clogs!

Considered as clompy and far from elegant it came as a surprise to many when clogs appeared on the Spring/Summer  catwalks of Chanel and Louis Vuitton. It wasn’t until Alexa Cheung was spotted in a pair of this seasons controversial stompers that the general public stood up and noticed this trend as a feasible one that might just invade their shoe cupboard. It didn’t take long before clogs popped up everywhere in all kinds of varieties. Many brands have transformed the clog into a more wearable ‘clog-sandal’, still keeping the thick wooden sole and metal studs but using leather straps instead of the closed toe to give a more feminine-edge. Miss Selfridge has done a great job of turning the clog into a shoe that wouldn’t look out of place paired with a summer dress adding a pretty ribbon tie to pale blue leather. Kurt Geiger have also created a fantastic clog collection featuring an ankle clog with multiple buckles and a replica of the renowned Chanel clog. Other hot clog offerings can be found at ASOS, Schuh and Boohoo.
Miss Selfridge Aqua Floral Tie Clog £45,  Kurt Geiger Blue Patent Platform £200Carvela Ash Brown Courts £130, Carvela Anica Tan Courts £80, Red or Dead Lara Heels £74.99, ASOS Mango Mule Shoe £55, Boohoo Black T-Bar Sandal £40

Gossip Girl meets Miss Selfridge

Our favourite fashion-filled show and Miss Selfridge have joined forces to create a Gossip Girl collection based on the four female lead characters. Launching this month, the collection featuring the styles of Serena, Blair, Jenny and Vanessa was inspired by the designs of Gossip Girl Fashion designer Eric Daman.

The collection will consist of eight pieces featuring a leopard print boho maxi, a black body-con bandage dress, a lace tutu skirt and a ruffle front shirt, all consistent with the slick styling of the show. The items will retail from £39.
Yasmin Yusuf, creative director of Miss Selfridge explained, "The dresses we've created based on the characters fit perfectly with our spring/summer 2010 range. Our customers love the show and the styles of the girls, so the partnership is a perfect match."
Paul Bufton, general manager of Warner Bros consumer products also commented on the collection, "Fashion is intrinsic to Gossip Girl and a key ingredient in the continued popularity of the series". "Miss Selfridge has created a collection that is true to the ideals of the show and one that young women will
aspire to own. We're certain it will be a commercial success, and the beginning of a long-term relationship with the retailer."

Make sure you're quick off the mark, it's sure to be a sell-out!

Topshop Launch Make-up Range!!

Topshop have announced they will be launching their very own Make-up line in May, following in the footsteps of H&M, Zahra and Primark. The collection features a multitude of fashion brights in the form of nail polishes, eye-shadows and lip glosses/sticks all creating smooth luxe finishes.
The range was designed by Topshop designer Lizzie Dawson. Incorporating the experimental nature of the Topshop customer, its influences come from fashion rather than make-up trends.
Look out for the nail polish named 'The Big Smoke' which is a very good copy of Chanel's must-have sell-out colour 'Particuliere'.
If you want to check out the range in action, check out Topshop's Unique fashion show where the new range was used on the models. Skin Tint was used to warm the skin and gold paint was used on the inner-corner of the eye.

In their continuous mission to support emerging fashion talent, Sketchbook Magazine have collaborated with Vauxhall Fashion Scout to bring the public a rare opportunity to get their hands on samples from some of the ‘talent goldmine’s’ top designers.

The leading fashion illustration magazine has been occupying a space on Newburgh Street in Carnaby for the past two weeks, hosting fashion and art exhibitions, discussions with guest speakers and live music.

In the pop-up shop’s third and final week, it will host its very own sample-sale featuring six emerging talents from Vauxhall Fashion Scout’s roster.

Chinese-Glaswegian Yan To (who has already provided an insightful look on what it takes to become a fashion designer in a live discussion at the pop-up store), will be selling sample items from his Zero (AW09) and One (SS10) collections. His collections have already been snapped up by influential London boutique b-Store located on the prestigious Saville Row and he continues to receive rave reviews in the fashion press.

Multi-talented Ada Zanditon will be making her SS10 jewellery collection samples available to the public at the sale. Interning with Alexander McQueen, before going on to study at the London College of Fashion, Ada will no doubt impress with her future collections in fashion and jewellery.

London’s newest Fashion label, Swagger and Soul will also be making an appearance. With only one season under their belts, the leather label have already built up a huge following including Daisy Lowe and Alexa Cheung.

Other designers featuring in this unique sale include Knitwear specialist Alice Palmer, Harriet's Muse who creates a decadent style with a sinister influence and Hong Kong born Viking Wong who experienced her debut fashion week this February.
